Joost HAGEDOORN – Biarritz, France

Amplifying nature's voice

Founder, filmmaker, writer.

Building a wilder future, locally and globally.

I founded Rewilding Euskal Herria to restore nature and communities across the Basque territory, working with and aligning local actors and stakeholders, with nature at the head of the table.
Before this I ran Kolenkit Films in Amsterdam for over a decade, producing nature and corporate films.
I also write. Egosystems, a book about perception, blind spots and human nature, is available for pre-order now and you can find a variety of articles on my Substack.

Restore nature

Through rewilding, advocacy, communications and coalition-building — putting nature back in decisions

Write

Translating complex ideas into clear language. Reframing how we see ourselves and the world. Provoking readers to question what they thought they knew

Capture and tell stories

Motion, stills, sound. The world is full of stories that deserve to be seen — the work is finding them and doing them justice

Collaborate

All great things are achieved through collaboration. When our goals align, I am available to help.

It’s you

I recognise you

I recognise your ways

I recognise the way you look

I had forgotten

It’s me

It’s what we share

It is life and growth

It is wither and die

I have missed you

I miss you

I am sorry

I can’t help

You deserve what I have

I don’t want it anymore

You deserve my fortune

If I could give it all away

It’s good to see you

I had forgotten

Even despaired

But you are still there

Why didn’t I listen

Why didn’t I look

What could matter more

So long it took

You are still here

And I see you now

And now that I see you

I will stay here

You can have it all

My everything

You deserve it

As yours was taken away

You have me

I won’t lose you again

I am yours

I am your friend

Let me help

Let me share

Let me tell

What you have to say

Let me do

Let me save

Let me know

What I can say

You are me

And we are you

If only we would realise

Alone is not alone

You deserve my devotion

I owe it all to you

My voice is human

My heart belongs to you

You gave us everything

But we wanted more

Never realising

There is nothing else

The search, the answers

The love, united

Our path can not stay

Forever divided

I will break away

And join you again

And I will speak

My human voice

You deserve my everything

And not only mine

You deserve space

effort and time

I dream about you

And the things you say

I miss you

On this lonely day

You are my mother

You gave us all

You are my home

And still, we took more

Don’t forgive me yet

For you there is time

Me, I’m not sure.

But you will be fine.

I can suffer and lose

It won’t matter in the end

I can die as you did

My oldest friend

I welcome you, but not our cries

I hear what you say, but not our lies

I was mistaken, it’s never too late

To change

I am yours

And yours alone

You are me

And the kingdom

I forgot but not anymore

You are what I am living for

Your story untold, it can not stay

It can not end this way

It’s simple

As love

Words do not

So no more thoughts

We breathe and walk

We live and talk

But we have forgotten it all

Your stories

My voice

My love

My choice

You can have it all

I want nothing else
